TWO COMPANIES

Spierings Medische Techniek BV is a medical technical engineering bureau focusing on reseaching,
designing, developing and testing medical devices for the orthopaedic, plastic and general surgery
market. Among our customers Spierings Medische Techniek BV counts most major orthopaedic companies.

Spierings Orthopaedics BV is focusing on production, regulatory affairs, outsourcing, quality
control and CE marking of orthopaedic implants and instruments.

HISTORY

Spierings Medische Techniek was founded in 1992 by P.T.J Spierings, M.D. M.Sc. It started at the Department of Orthopaedics of the University of Nijmegen. In 2002 two companies, Spierings Medische Techniek BV and Spierings Orthopaedics BV, with limited liability were founded.
In 2006 the company moved to a historic building with its own modern testing and clean room facilities.

Engineering

Spierings Medische Techniek is specialized in engineering and developing medical devices. We develop many different kinds of specialty devices to suit the needs of our individual customers. Spierings Medische Techniek has studied, designed and created a large number of orthopaedic devices for reconstructive and trauma surgery.

Manufacturing

The core activity of Spierings Orthopaedics BV is production of surgical devices. To create high quality and competitively priced products, production is organized by outsourcing parts of the production process to specialized vendors. Other parts of the production process such as finishing, assembling, packaging and clean room activities are performed in house. Spierings Orthopaedics’ products range from individualized clinical prototypes to large-scale production.

Spierings Orthopaedics BV works according to the EC-MDD and is ISO 13485 certified. CE-files,
Device Master Records and Batch Manufacturing Records are standard items in our production process.
